The colourful Bee Eaters....
Bee eater having fun with the food, knocking out the sting, and getting the bee in position for feeding the young chicks.
The leap from the branch, and unusual angle but the bird done a back flip to create this visual efect ....
Part of the same sequence of the bee eater doing its back flip.
This male is waiting to feed the young chicks, maybe its the time to make sure the bee is safe to eat, I noticed they all do this.
Nice pose on the branch before feeding, they are very careful as to not give away the nest position.
I found this bee eater always came out of the nest backwards, am sure it had a reason,
but gave the opportunity of a interesting image
Again backwards but again gives a interesting wing action
Their diet also extends to wasps, hornets, butterflies, crickets, and much more, but are masters at catching their prey in flight
One with dragon fly and other with bumble bee.
finding a cricket when they trim the long bushes and long grass around the vineyards, provides larger varieties of food.
